Hey, maybe now everyone understands why Belichick went for it on 4th and 2.

The New England Patriots were completely undressed at by the undefeated New Orleans Saints at the Superdome Monday night, 38-17. Saints QB Drew Brees threw for 5 touchdowns to 5 different receivers, completely picking apart the Patriots' young secondary and finishing with a perfect passing rating of 158.3.

"We were able to accomplish something offensively tonight that was pretty special," Brees said.

Brees counterpart Tom Brady didn't fare as well. Two interceptions. No touchdowns. Brady never found a rhythm as Saints' defensive coordinator Gregg Williams completely dispatched anything the Patriots threw at them.

"There's obviously a big gap between us," Brady said. "It wasn't nearly as competitive as we all were expecting."

The Patriots (7-4) travel to Miami (5-6) this week for an important divisional game, and it's worth nothing that they haven't won a game on the road all season. New Orleans (11-0) takes on the Washington Redskins (3-8) on the road.
